Ingredients for the cake:
- 1 Box Duncan Hines yellow cake
- 2 Skewers (maybe more, depending on height of cake and daring of maker)
- 1 C mixed blue berries, raspberries and strawberries
Ingredients for the frosting:
- 3 C powdered sugar
- 2 Tbs milk
- 1 C butter (softened)
- Organic chocolate syrup for garnish
Directions: Follow instructions on box to bake cake and let sit over night. Cut into 2x2 or 3x3 inch squares and stack using skewers for support.
Mix frosting ingredients together until smooth and creamy and frost cake using the berries as decoration.
Add chocolate syrup as desired.
Pictures to follow soon! This homage was particularly destructive looking, specifically because the frosting was too heavy for the cake itself. Well, that's what you get for taking creative license while making a dish for gourmet night. I must say though, the end result - albeit messy - was pretty dang delicious and more fun to eat. Eating it “family” style” from the display plate was definitely a tribute to peace and harmony!
